Ancient sailors traveled with aquamarine gemstones, believing that it would ensure both a safe passage and a secure return. They also tucked them under their pillows to ensure sound sleep. They even believed mermaids' tails were made of aquamarine! No wonder this talisman to the tars has long been regarded as the stone of the sea. We found the clearest Caribbean blue oval aquamarines and highlighted them with islands of natural white diamonds. 14K gold settings complement their three-dimensional translucence and sparkle. The split-band ring pedestals a 1.63 carat oval-cut aquamarine within the sweeping embrace of diamonds (.07 ctw) and milgrain accents. The 7" bracelet alternates eleven oval aquamarines (4.10 ctw) with diamond-kissed marquise links (.06 ctw). The half-hoop earrings with lever backs, about 1/2" long, terrace clear blue pools of aquamarines (2.32 ctw) with tiny white gold blocks centered with diamonds (.06 ctw).
