It would be hard to find someone who had never heard of the Hope Blue Diamond, but somewhat lesser known outside gemological circles is Hope's "sister" the Dresden Green Diamond. With a total carat weight of 40.70 carats, the Dresden gets its name from the capital of Saxony where it has been on display for over 200 years. The diamond came from India to England in the early 18th century and eventually made its way to the King of Poland. When asked by the King of Prussia for artillery to aid in a siege in 1741, the King of Poland replied that he could not help as he had very little money after buying a large green diamond. The Dresden remains a fantastic example of natural green diamonds and was once briefly displayed alongside its "sister" Hope at the Smithsonian but is again on display in Dresden.
The Stauer White & Green Diamond ring celebrates one of nature's most elusive gems with fifteen round, full-cut natural-mined gemologically heated diamonds in the lavish green shade you desire. To punctuate the beauty, we paired our green diamonds with thirty full-cut traditional white diamonds totaling over 1/3 of a carat for a brilliant, dazzling showcase piece of jewelry. The diamonds are mounted in .925 sterling silver in ladies ring sizes 5-9.
