My challenge to Stauer's watchmakers was to craft a fine timepiece with this remarkable 1783 silver dollar as the centerpiece. The result surpassed my greatest expectations. The watch features an authentic 1783 Spanish silver dollar securely set inside a handsome stainless steel case layered in 18K gold. The back side of the coin was chosen as the watch face to highlight the detailed image of the crowned Spanish coat of arms set between the Pillars of Hercules. Every 226-year-old coin is uniquely worn and aged, distinguishing each watch as a one-of-a-kind keepsake. Two blue, Breguet-style hands keep time using recessed Roman numerals along the outside of the dial.

Each 1783 Silver Dollar Watch fastens with a genuine brown croc-embossed leather band and is water resistant to 5 ATM. You will also find a declaration of authenticity etched into the caseback.
