The 1930s brought unprecedented innovation in machine-age technology and materials. Industrial designers
from the auto industry translated the principals of aerodynamics and streamlining into everyday objects like
radios and toasters. It was also a decade when an unequaled variety of watch cases and movements came into
being. In lieu of hands to tell time, one such complication, called a jumping mechanism, utilized numerals
on a disc viewed through a window. With its striking resemblence to the dashboard gauges and radio dials of
the decade, the jump hour watch was indeed "in tune" with the times!
The Stauer 1930s Dashtronic deftly blends the modern functionality of a 21-jewel automatic movement
and 3-ATM water resistance with the distinctive, retro look of a jumping display (not an actual jumping
complication). The stainless steel 1-1/2" case is complemented with a black alligator-embossed leather
band. The band is 9-1/2" long and will fit a 7-8 1/2" diameter wrist.

My mom bought me this watch for my 58th birthday. What a surprise it was, and still is.
Self winding is cool. Not having to replace a battery is a plus.
Its kind of weird have to read the watch display backward, as the display does read that way, but I''m getting used to it.
Suggestion: a way to light up the display in the dark.
My wife got this watch for me as a birthday present. I have had it 1 day and have already received several compliments on it - my boss said he was glad he was transfering because now he is going to get one for himself!
It is nice and heavy and seems to be very durable. Something I will keep for many years.
Great attention getter. Very unique, like many of the other Stauer watches I own. Reliable time keeper and the 100.00 gift certificate given with numerous Stauer watches keeps me returning. I now own at least (8) eight Stauers and numerous have cost me little or nothing... What a terrific company.
$99 doesn''t buy much watch nowadays. This watch is very cool and retro style is very different.
So afr so good, it keeps acccurate time & wonce you get used to the position of the numbers in th edial it is suprisingly easy to check the time.
Only comment is that it would have been a home run if it contained another windo wfor the date, but now I''m getting picky.
