The 1930s brought unprecedented innovation in machine-age technology and materials. Industrial designers
from the auto industry translated the principals of aerodynamics and streamlining into everyday objects like
radios and toasters. It was also a decade when an unequaled variety of watch cases and movements came into
being. In lieu of hands to tell time, one such complication, called a jumping mechanism, utilized numerals
on a disc viewed through a window. With its striking resemblence to the dashboard gauges and radio dials of
the decade, the jump hour watch was indeed "in tune" with the times!
The Stauer 1930s Dashtronic deftly blends the modern functionality of a 21-jewel automatic movement
and 3-ATM water resistance with the distinctive, retro look of a jumping display (not an actual jumping
complication). The stainless steel 1-1/2" case is complemented with a black alligator-embossed leather
band. The band is 9-1/2" long and will fit a 7-8 1/2" diameter wrist.
If you have an appreciation for classic design with precision accuracy, the 1930s Dashtronic Watch is
built for you. This watch is a limited edition, so please act quickly. Our last two limited edition
watches are totally sold out!
I have sold watches for ten years. I own a Bulova, Mavado and Seiko. When my father-in-law gave me this watch, I instantly flipped for it. I love it. It has so many strong points, such as the automatic movement, pressurized water resistance, tough and stylish casing-all coming together for one simple and flawless function, to give an accurate time. There is a minimalistic, industrial beauty to this watch that continues to grow on me. Thanks dad. This watch is the bee''s knees. Oh by the way, I put away all of the other watches.
I Got this watch last year as a gift from my wife
I love the way it feels solid and strong, plus the
fun of telling the story behind the watch.Put one
on and enjoy the compliments.
This is the first Stauer watch that I bought and my experience was so good that I now own six Stauers and bought two for gifts. The Dashtronic is truly unique, but takes a while to get used to. In a sense, the face moves while the hand stays still, but since most watch mechanisms turn clockwise, the watch appears to turn backwards. It took me about a week to get used to that eccentricity. However, it just adds to the charm. Like the other reviewers, I am amazed at how durable it is so I wear this model for rougher activities. Out of all of Stauer’s watches, this is probably the most unique and the most fun for the low price. If you only buy one, this is it.
Just got my birthday present I bought myself while out of town.(saw it in the airplane magazine) Went out to eat with some friends and got compliments from everyone and the waitress noticed it too. I almost wish I would have gotten the gold one to. When the Doctor at the dentist office complimented me and said he thinks gold would have looked better.
The real test will be how well it preforms at work over the next few months but for now I couldnt be happier.
I''VE WORN THIS WATCH FOR ABOUT TWO MONTHS AND HAVE HAD MORE COMPLIMENTS THAN I CAN SHAKE A STICK AT. EVERYONE THAT SEES THE WATCH IS AMAZED AT IT''S APPEARANCE. SOME HAVE WONDERED HOW I TELL THE TIME BUT OTHERS READILY SEE IT AS A "UNIQUE" TIMEPIECE. THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO DISPLAY YOUR CLASSIC OFFERINGS...
I am not much on Brand Names or their prices. What I am big on is quality engineering and unique application for a fair price. My watch is a reflection of me, not I of it. Thanks for a great watch.
If you want something different here it is. People will come up to you and ask you about your watch and ask you were you get it. I got both stainless and gold, there one of a kind.
I just received the watch and received complements about it on my first day of wearing it. I love the looks and it is a nice addition to my watch collection. It is fun to explain it''s unique design.
Everyone who has noticed it, they all want to find out who sells it. And I found the add in one of my Hot Rod Magazines. In my opinion the watch is very unique and has that certian touch of class, it is my favorite watch out of my collection. Thanks for a great watch.
