Not just another pretty face, the Liberté is now better than FREE!

Sociologists have argued than one of the great liberating forces in history has been the wristwatch. The belief is that wearable, portable timekeepers freed workers from the 'master clocks' of factories and foremen. At Stauer, we'd like to add that a great-looking, finely-crafted watch has the power to free a man's capacity for self-expression.

At first glance, the Liberté looks like a perfectly civilized automatic timepiece. On closer inspection, you'll find things are a bit more... unique. Inside the gold-fused, stainless steel case, the Liberté features a strikingly-designed face that showcases three overlapping complications. The time is marked with a smaller dial, offset from the center. The lower complication marks seconds and the small complication on the upper left indicates the date and includes a sun/moon window. The outer edge of the dial features bold, black Roman numerals that seem to undulate to fit the interlocking complications. A small front window gives you a close-up look at the balance wheel and escapement in action while the exhibition back lets you see the precision-crafted gears, "lubricated" by 27 rubies that give the hands a smooth sweeping automatic movement. The watch is water-resistant to 5 ATMs and secures with a genuine leather strap. And we saved the most emancipating feature of the Liberté for the bottom line!
