Southwestern blues

Once upon a time, Los Cerrillos was a boomtown. You couldn't throw a stone without hitting a saloon or a brothel. And once that stone landed, you'd better believe a miner would stop to double-check that it wasn't a hunk of gold, silver or turquoise. During its dusty heyday, the humble New Mexican town was flush with precious treasure coming out of the hills. It was so famous for its turquoise that one big-time New York jeweler snatched up several mines, just to collect stones in its favorite shade.

Our designer hand-cut a square of cool blue turquoise as the perfect centerpiece for our Bali-styled pendant. For even more brilliant blues, he created a companion necklace, an 18" strand of of polished turquoise beads, hand-strung alongside sterling silver Bali spacers and faceted, genuine sapphire roundells.
