It was 1910, and a new source of rose beryl was uncovered in far-off Madagascar, and the New York Academy of Sciences had an idea. They officially renamed the bright pink gemstone “morganite,” in honor of billionaire industrialist J.P. Morgan. As an aficionado of fine art and fine gems, this was an honor the financier truly deserved.
In the 1800s, Morgan donated extensive art and gemstone collections to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the American Museum of Natural History. And Morganite itself reflects the man it was named for. It’s the richer, finer cousin of both emerald and aquamarine — rarer than both, and considerably more expensive.
Morganite comes in many exquisite pink, pastel hues and we’ve selected stones for this collection that reflect peace, warmth... and love. Our Art Nouveau-inspired Muse Morganite Collection is a serene, pastel remembrance that sends us back to the early 1900s.
The earrings are an elegant and classic design made of 40-carats of gleaming pink morganite gems. Their polished gloss caresses the skin. The vintage look is replete with shining, gold-finished beads and secures with French hooks.
The Muse Earrings are a timeless design that will never go out of style — rare roses that will never fade, but will grow more precious with the years. With these earrings in your armoire, the past will come alive... and you’ll wear a part of history.
