Old watch learns new trick

Our bestselling Meisterzeit Timepiece was inspired by a lucky find in an obscure European watch museum. But when it came time to create a follow-up, we decided to save money on airfare and look to our own masterpiece for inspiration.

You’ll find that the Stauer Meisterzeit II Chronograph is crafted with the same reverence for history as the first Meisterzeit. And we’ve kept the exceptional case and dial design from to the rare automatic we discovered years ago. What’s changed? Inside, you’ll find an impeccably precise quartz chronograph movement. We dare say that this makes the watch even more reliable than its 89-year-old inspiration. Imagine putting a 21st-century engine into the body of a vintage coupe. And then imagine that machine strapped to your wrist.

The watchmakers have outdone themselves again. Each of the three complications on the face has been carefully engineered to replicate the earliest multifunction watches. Classic blued, Breguet-style hands and Roman numerals mark time along the edges of the elegantly etched dial. And you’ll find a date window at the 3 o’clock position.

The Stauer Meisterzeit II Chronograph secures with a genuine brown leather strap and is water-resistant to 3 ATMs. Don’t miss your chance to claim a piece of watchmaking history in a rare design that is priced to wear every day.

A Solid 90%

This is an amazing looking watch and the first thing people notice when I walk in a room. It really only has two down points which are pretty minor, all things considered. It is a little thick, right about 1/2 and inch but it makes up for it in it''s light-weight crafting. The really only single negative is the 3 small dials are for the chronograph hour and minute and the regular watch second hand. The chronograph second hand is the sweeping hand that is usually the regular time second hand. With these two second hands being reversed from what one would expect on a chronograph watch, it took some getting used to. I still don''t understand why it was made that way but I love the watch anyway. Definately the finest timepiece I''ve ever owned.
