How to Outsmart a Millionaire

Only the "Robin Hood of Watchmakers" can steal the spotlight from a luxury legend

Mr. Bigshot rolled up in a roaring high-performance Italian sports car, dropping attitude like his $22,000 watch made it okay for him to be rude. That’s when I decided to roll up my sleeves and teach him a lesson.

"Nice watch," I said, pointing to his and holding up mine. He nodded like we belonged to the same club. We did, but he literally paid 100 times more for his membership. Bigshot bragged about his five figure purchase, a luxury heavyweight from the titan of high-priced timepieces. I told him that mine was the Stauer Corso, a 27-jewel automatic classic now available exclusively through Stauer. And just like that, the man was at a loss for words.

Think of Stauer as the "Robin Hood of Watchmakers." We believe everyone deserves a watch of uncompromising precision, impressive performance and the most elegant styling. You deserve a watch that can hold its own against the luxury classics for a fraction of the price. You’ll feel the quality as soon as you put it on your wrist. This is an expertly-crafted time machine... not a cry for attention.

Wear a mechanical masterpiece! We surveyed our customers. As intelligent, high net worth individuals, they have outgrown the need to show off. They have nothing to prove; they already proved it. They want superb quality and astonishing value. And that’s exactly what we deliver.

The Stauer Corso is proof that the worth of a watch doesn’t depend on the size of its price tag. Our factory spent over $40 million on Swiss-made machinery to insure the highest quality parts. Each timepiece takes six months and over 200 individual precision parts to create the complex assembly. Peer through the exhibition back to see the 27-jeweled automatic movement in action and you’ll understand why we can only offer the Corso in a limited edition.

Our specialty is vintage automatic movements. The Corso is driven by a self-winding design, inspired by a 1923 patent. Your watch will never need batteries. Every second of power is generated by the movement of your body. The black dial features a trio of date complications including a graphic day/night display. The Corso secures with a two-toned stainless steel bracelet and is water-resistant to 3 ATMs.

Beautiful watch, wish it was battery operated!

For this watch and fell in love with it, it almost looks like having one of those giant time pieces from an old downtown area on your wrist in a compact size. The only drawback about this watch is that if you do not wear it for more than 8 hours it stops, then you have to re-adjust it and shake it for about a minute to get it going. In other words you have to wear it all the time and if you take it off, don''t do it for more than 8 hours. I ended up returning it, and told Stauer customer service that if they build this watch in a battery powered configuration I will be re-purchasing it, but until then I can only dream of owning its beauty. Again good watch for those who wear their watches all the time and only take them off for really short periods of time. I also own a Colossus and it''s a keeper! Cheers!

I agree with H from Colorado. It''s a great looking watch but being a self-winder is a bummer. I wear different watches for different occasions and I end up re-setting this one constantly.

Very Nice

I received my Stauer Corso as a gift, from my lovely wife, for my birthday and I just love it! Once I figured out how to set the day, date, and time (including the 24 hour clock/day & night feature) I was in business. This is a beautiful timepiece. The only thing I haven''t figured out is the numbers around the face and "Units Per Hour". I would definitely recommend this watch.

ok

Nice looking watch. I just dont know why Stauer always has to cover the moon symbol with the small hour hand. This photo was fixed to show a more visable moon.

New Member on Corso Watch and other

I really like the watch, (new member). I was a bit surprized with the Chinese movement but as I said I really like the watch. I have an atomic clock that the Corso was set to, its only out 8 to 10 seconds a week!!. The movement is very fine and keeps accurate time. The watch band is, I believe aluminum, with Stainless Steel Clasp Arrangment. Can you send instructions explaining numbers around the bezel? But as I've said I really like the watch.Since then I have purchased and are awaiting 3 more watches.

Self winding rocks!

Self winding watches are eco friendly. Electro-pollution is everywhere! Self winding watches prevent more harmful micro-wave emissions. In recent studies battery powered watches worn over years and years emit microwaves that affect surrounding tissues in the wrists causing, among other things, tumors and general chondromalasia of cell tissue. Ouch! "Watch" what you wear.

Corso Watch

Quality plus value this Corso watch by Stauer is a must have. All the looks of having great wealth without the price tag. I have had this watch over a week now and set it to the world clock and it is keeping great time plus the free sunglasses are great. I have light sensitive eyes and these polarized sunglasses are just what I needed and they are great. So if you wan''t to impress buy this watch.

corso watch

I purchased this watch in December, 2012. It works very well, sometimes for twelve hours at rest. My only disappointment is that the hands are not luminescent. I thought that the white on all the hands would glow in the dark. But it doesn't.

corso

love the watch. would give it 5 stars if the crystal was magnified as my eyesight was where i could see the print on the dials of the date, etc. other than that you would have to kill me to get it.

Corso Watch

I was somewhat skeptical because of the low price, but this is a beautiful watch and so far it keeps perfect time. I only wish the date and small dials were easier to see. The free aviator sunglasses are great, too.
