River Canyon Bowie
I liked the look of this knife so I purchased two of them for Christmas presents. I just received them this week and I must say I was surprised to see PAKISTAN written on the box. I will still give one away but will keep the one that has a flaw in the handle material.

This is an awesomely nice knife! I love this blade configuration! Great for utility purposes such as slicing celery or carrots, skinning, cutting leather, etc. Great for cutting things on a cutting board. For daily wear it is not obtrusive, can put the sheath end in my hip pocket while it is attached to my belt, people don't see a big intimidating knife, just a pretty handle. LOVE IT!
Very hefty, well-built knife and sheath. Extremely good-looking and utilitarian. I would have given it 5 stars except that it was NOT sharp enough to shave with. An hour or so on my whetstones cured that ... nothing like a whetstone to put a great edge on a knife. It is made in Pakistan, but don't let that dissuade you, this is a GREAT knife!
Great knife, sorry edge
This is a great knife so long as you are willing to spend hours putting a decent edge on it. The edge was done with a grinder ... had rough grinding marks in it. I had to start with a coarse sharpening stone to shape a decent edge and spend three days on whetstones to get a great razor sharp edge on it. Now that I have done so, it is a GREAT knife!
Good for show
This is a very hefty knife. BUT the construction is poor, which is not all bad as it does look
"handmade". Not sure on the steel yet as it is
made in Pakistan, have had some good, some bad from there. I would say that for the price it is a decent knife, but I would not count on it in a real survival situation though better than not having any knife!

Great but sheath is for a right handed person. Need left hand carrier for belt!!!!!!!!!
Superb Quality for the Price
The River Canyon Bowie knife is a superbly made knife. I just got mine in the mail today and gave it a thorough inspection and am very impressed with the quality and workmanship. The leather sheath that comes with the knife would ordinarily cost you 20 plus dollars. The sheath is attractive with excellent craftsmanship. Thank you Stauer for marketing such a great knife and sheath.

The knife is a work of art, and a bloody good cutting tool. I did have to reinforce the sheath back with some extra leather to keep it from flopping around.
