The very essence of rare
Labradorite is a gemstone beloved by jewelry experts
Bringing unexpectedly special gemstones to our customers is a Stauer specialty. We’re very aware that certain mainstream stones receive a lot of attention, and a lot of marketing from the big-name, overpriced jewelry stores. But our favorite thing to do is to find a stone that’s loved by our contacts in the real jewelry world— collectors, gemologists and other experts— and then let our customers in on the secret.
The Labradorite gemstones in this bracelet are exactly that stone. Named not for the loveable dog breed, but for the place in Canada where both the dog and the gemstones were originally discovered, Labradorite is beloved by jewelry experts. Most stones display an iridescent play of color, similar to opals, but some display an extra special optical effect known as Labradorescence, where internal fractures reflect light back and forth and then disperse it into different colors.
This bracelet features genuine Labradorite stones, set in gold-finished sterling silver. We shudder to think what the big jewelry stores would charge for this bracelet if they got their hands on it. But we’re pricing it to be deliberately accessible, so you can own a rare gem for a price equally as rare.
