Ming on the beauty
The Forbidden City Collection pays tribute to the distinctive, legendary Ming porcelain style. The original Ming porcelain pieces are now behind very thick museum glass and have a value that goes beyond the monetary, but these painstakingly-detailed reproductions of the Ming style are available for a price that won’t put your empire in jeopardy.
Each piece is hand painted, ensuring you have a one-of-a-kind objet d’art.
The Great Ming Dynasty ruled China for three centuries, from 1368 to 1644. During this time, the Dynasty brought about incredible growth and advances in China’s population, culture, economy, and world standing. Literature and the arts flourished and the legendary Forbidden City was constructed as an Imperial palace.
But perhaps most famously, the blue-and-white porcelain of the Ming Dynasty, made mostly in the southern town of Jingdezhen, became treasured around the world. The impossibly smooth surface and the intricate cobalt-blue-and-white details of Ming porcelain is a global sensation that started in the 14th century and continues to endure.
