Can you keep a secret?
The highly-coveted trade secrets of Murano once protected by the Venetian government are out in the open
The history of the Murano glassmakers goes back many, many centuries. It begins in 1291, when the Venetian government feared that the glassmaking threatened the city’s wooden structures. So they exiled all Venetian glassmakers to the nearby island of Murano.
Situated and focused, Murano glassmakers developed incredible, revolutionary techniques like millefiori (multicolored glass) and aventurine (glass with flecks of gold) and so the Venetian authorities tried to keep these great glassmaking secrets close by making it illegal for Murano glassworkers to leave the island.
Today, the very finest glasswork and designs still come from Murano, and the Murano Segreta Bracelet is a perfect example. Each Murano bead showcases a unique design and is everything the Venetian authorities first feared and then later coveted.
Unlike the Venetians, we want to share the magic of Murano with as many people as possible. That’s why we’re we’ve priced the Murano Segreta Bracelet to be beautifully attainable.
