Steeped in history
In modern times, iced tea commands over 95% of total tea sales in America, which makes us distinctive as the only nation that prefers its tea iced. Fueled by Prohibition, iced tea became a cornerstone of Southern life as a sweet, strong staple.
We were delighted to discover a colonial tea importer and blender located in Charleston South Carolina. This Veteran-owned small business tells the story of historic American beverages through is handcrafted selection of teas, spiced-drinks, cacao, and coffee. They seek out the same tea gardens that supplied the British East India Company in the markets at Canton, China in the 17th and 18th centuries. Their Southern Style iced tea is a single-estate broken orange pekoe black tea, grown at elevation in tea gardens on the tropical island of Sri Lanka. The resulting bold and fruity flavor profile is more naturally sweet and needs less sugar to make Sweet Tea. Comes hand-packaged and sealed in a signature, artisan tin.
