Venice at Christmastime is a stunner. Crisp, but not too cold, the already picturesque city is beautifully quiet. Millions of golden lights line the porticos of Piazza San Marco. On Christmas Eve, the bells ring at night for midnight mass. Wandering around the city, taking in the familiar sight of the Accademia and Rialto bridges, my wife and I eventually ran into Campo San Polo’s small Christmas market. 

While skaters took advantage of the market’s ice rink, we perused the merchant stands filled with local treasures. There were silk ties adorned with images of the Lion of Venice, lace decorations and Christmas ornaments. But best of all was a collection of Italian-made jewelry featuring the Florentine Cross and an ornate Ricamo ring. 

The merchant said the collection was made by his family and gave me his card. Now, I can present the Christmas in Venice Collection to you.
