It’s in the DNA of Italian designers to experiment with pure shapes and generate new aesthetics. Tubogas, is a highly-specialized metalworking technique that requires no soldering— resulting in a seamless, coiled silhouette. Tubogas is a shining example of invention created out of necessity, as the scarcity of jewelry materials during World War II required jewelers to be innovative and daring. This modern technique was pioneered by two Italian brothers, Giorgio and Costantino who later created a fashion empire in Rome.
To create these earrings we found a team of artisans in the hills of Laterina, a beautiful village on the edge of the Valdarno Valley. Their expertise in tubogas is beautifully represented in this handcrafted piece. Substantial yet flexible, with a subtle stretch. Architectural in design, these earrings are the very definition of modern elegance.
The flexibility factor extends to the pricing as well. While the big fashion house in Rome is pretty stiff in their pricing, we think you’ll find ours much more accommodating.
