In 1291, the glassmakers of the Venetian Republic were commanded to move their foundries to the neighboring islands of Murano. The intricately-worked glass they created became so famous, and the glassmakers so venerated, that the Republic allowed glassmakers to marry into the most powerful Venetian families. Today, Murano still leads the world in top-of-the line glass craftsmanship, so we asked them to make us something special.
The Natale Necklace is a perfect expression of the magic of Murano. The red beads painstakingly decorated with 24K Italian gold represents hundreds of years of Murano tradition and craftsmanship.
And while you could fly and then ferry to Murano to find this necklace for yourself, you wouldn’t find it for a price better than what we negotiated on our most recent visit.
