I like it!

Ever since I saw the self winding versions of this watch style some years ago in a Stauer magazine advertisement I've always wanted one. But I was never a watch wearer and when ever I saw the ad I was in my doctor's office and I could never be so bold as to rip a full page out of his magazine. And I never sat there long enough to be driven to write the phone number down so my desire to own one was never fulfilled until I found the Stauer website recently. I chose the Maximus Watch because of the date window which always comes in handy when I'm signing paperwork at my doctor's office. I wanted my first Stauer watch to be one that I could wear in the woods but be classy enough to take it anywhere else and the Maximus fit that description perfectly. The watch has an incredible heft to it that matches its futuristic geometry. The display reminds me of a speedometer from a classic muscle car reinvented. I should have ripped that page from my doctor's magazine many years ago.

Maximus Watch

I used to (proudly) wear a TAG Heuer watch. Nobody ever seemed to notice or say anything about it.
Several years ago,I put my TAG Heuer into the drawer and started wearing the Maximus every day. Ever since, TWO to THREE days do not pass when someone doesn't comment on it. As the shiny finish flakes off, it looks absolutely antique! A beautiful "aged" patina.

A very cool watch.

A vintage watch from the future

You'll spark imaginations and conversations with this timekeeping masterpiece of retro-futuristic metalwork

Stauer's new men's watch is a mechanical marvel from a past that never was. It sprang from visions of the Nautilus, exploring the Seven Seas with Nemo at its helm. It came from outer space, in a wave of hurtling meteorites that each sprouted three long, mechanical legs, and tried to terrorize the Earth. It came from the world of 1,000,000 AD, and the steam-powered future of the dreaded Morlocks.

From the mighty imaginations of Jules Verne and H. G. Wells comes our Maximus Watch. The trillion-shaped watch case is big — 48mm wide — and as sturdy as robot armor. It's a futuristic-Victorian ideal of brass and stainless steel, with a steel band and buckle plated with antique bronze. But what's truly exceptional about the Maximus is the unique dial. Straight out of a bygone future, the synchronizing dials work together seamlessly. No hands are necessary on the Maximus: easily-readable dials line up and show you exactly what time it is, and it even has a date window at the bottom.

The reliable Swiss movement will keep accurate time to less than a second a day. And if your one-man star speeder ever has to land on water, the Maximus is water-resistant to 3 ATM. Buckle up. Our Maximus watch is a clockwork window onto a world only you imagine. Live the fantasy.
