George Frederick Kunz is a legend in the jewelry industry, and there is only one stone fit to carry his name. The world-renowned gemstone expert didn’t attend college, but read mountains of mineralogy books and volunteered for endless research trips. His self-taught expertise earned him a job at the Tiffany jewelry company, where he became vice-president at the age of 23.
In 1902, Kunz identified a rare and beautiful form of the mineral spodumene, which featured a blushing pink hue. The gemstone was named Kunzite in his honor, and it’s now our honor to unveil the Virtuoso Necklace, featuring 15 stones of pink Kunzite, interspersed with 16 elegant cultured freshwater pearls. Kunz was a heavyweight in the jewelry industry so it’s fitting that the Virtuoso Necklace weighs in at a stunning 670 carats of Kunzite. Add an additional 140 carats with the bracelet and earrings.
For 100 years, Kunzite was available only to connected gemstone collectors. This precious pink stone is finally available to our customers, so we’re making the Virtuoso Kunzite Collection available at price that will make others green with envy. This is a must-have for any serious collection.
