Ocean in the Moonlight
Luminous moonstone and dreamy larimar capture the magic of a moonlit walk along the beach
There is perhaps no more romantic moment than taking a walk along the beach in the moonlight with the one you love. Capture that magic with a ring that joins two beautiful gems, each filled with legend and lore.
The central stone, moonstone began its journey in ancient Rome, where it was believed to be formed from solidified beams of moonlight. Many cultures associate this gem with moonlight, and it’s easy to see why. Its internal structure scatters the light, creating a phenomenon known as adularescence. The visual effect is reminiscent of the full moon shining through a veil of thin, high clouds.
Ethereal blue larimar is only found on a single remote mountainside, in the Dominican Republic, and is not found anywhere else in the world. This makes larimar 10,000 times rarer than diamonds.
Here, a five carat cabochon of luminous moonstone is flanked by three total carats of rare blue larimar for a stunning portrayal of the ocean bathed in moonlight. You can almost feel the sand between your toes.
- 5 carats moonstone & 3 ctw larimar
- .925 sterling silver setting
