It began in 1920 at a jewelry exposition in Madrid, when a certain young Italian jeweler caught the public’s attention by hurling an expensive com-pact out a window when a woman asked for a discount, shouting, “I am not a tradesman!” The next day, hundreds turned up to look at his booth, curi-ous to see the hot headed jeweler’s pieces. Everything sold. The jeweler was then invited to exhibit his work at a solo show; Spanish aristocrats came in droves, including the royal family who became lifelong clients. Poet Gabriele D’Annunzio dubbed him “The Prince of Goldsmiths”.
The rest, shall we say is history. His work lives on with international acclaim through his brand, now thriving under the legacy of his children.
