We get a lot of inspiration and ideas and, sometimes even make a bid or two, at estate auctions. My last venture into an estate sale brought me face-to-face with a collection of heirloom beauties featuring glittering white gems in vintage settings. The starting bid? Just a few million. 

Well, I decided to avoid a second mortgage and instead consulted some scientists and designers and recreated this million-dollar look for millions less.
