Italians Spell Fashion 'S-C-A-R-F'
From Palermo to Milan, it's always scarf season
You might think I’m crazy, but I swear I’m telling the truth: Italians love scarves. I don’t just mean during the cold winter months that we normally associate with scarf-wearing. Year-round! Even in the hot summer months, you’ll find chic Italian men and women wearing stylish thin scarves around their necks as a fashion statement from Palermo to Milan. A man wearing a T-shirt or button-up with a thin scarf around his neck? It’s a common sight.
Because of this trend, I sought out the best scarves that boot-shaped country had to offer on my last trip. Together with Daniele, the head of my office in Arrezzo, I met with the finest scarf makers in Italy. There was no end to the colorful, floral and chic scarves I came across, but in the end, I chose this one. Its wonderful designs rival those of that high-falutin French luxury goods maker at a fraction of the price. While their scarves can run you hundreds — and sometimes thousands — of dollars, we’re willing to part with ours for this price.
See why Italians are so obsessed with scarves with one of these fabulous baubles. She’ll fall in love before you can even say “Ciao!”
