There are two theories for why the glassmakers of Venice were located on the island of Murano. The first holds that their placement was intended to minimize damage in case of a fire; the other holds that the glassmakers were deliberately ostracized to help protect the secrets of their glassmaking. Whatever the case, in 1605 it was decreed that these glassmakers would have privileged status, and that their daughters would be allowed to marry into Venetian wealth and nobility.
In honor of this royal link, we present the Murano Signature Link Bracelet. Taking inspiration from a famous Venetian chain called Manin: golden works of art that adorned the necks and wrists of Venetian noblewomen throughout the history of the Venetian Republic. This bracelet is created using “Lavorazione a Lume,” a technique recognized and protected buy UNESCO. Each Murano link is meticulously handmade and unique; no two are the same.
