A free car with every watch?... keep reading

I love classic watches. They are finely tuned miniature mechanical marvels that are both beautiful and functional. But many Swiss models cost more than my new car. So we at Stauer decided to replicate the movement of a magnificent $26,000 Swiss Automatic watch but sell it to you for a fraction of the cost. So you end up with thousands in change. That's enough to buy a brand new sedan or SUV.

Is their watch really worth $26,000...

Well we don't believe that any watch is. That's the point. How did we build such a fine machine for such a low price? We decided that we could save you a fortune on the perfect watch if we moved the factory across the border and out of Switzerland. By using Swiss built machinery and Swiss trained engineers, Stauer is able to build this magnificent limited edition Stauer Monaco automatic timepiece for 93% less than a comparable luxury model.

Our factory spent over $22 million on Swiss made machinery to insure the highest quality parts. We hired Swiss trained engineers to manage the production. We even purchased Swiss calibrators to insure rigorous accuracy. But we avoided the high taxes and high marketing costs in Switzerland.

We built this brilliant timepiece with a 6-hand movement. The Stauer Monaco displays the date and day of the week. A third interior dial displays 24-hour military time. The exquisite automatic movement is powered by your body's motion so it never needs batteries. The interior workings have over 185 parts assembled by hand. Twenty-four rubies act to minimize the friction on the gears and rotors so the movement maintains incredible accuracy. Every single watch is timed for 15 days before it leaves the factory. You can tell the quality by the smooth sweeping motion of the second hand. It doesn't click like a mass produced quartz movement.

For the first time in watchmaking history, a watch this refined is on the market at this low a price. You are dealing directly with the manufacturer so we can pass the savings on to you. Stauer brings the ultimate luxury watch directly to you. This one comes with the added luxury of keeping your money in your wallet, not on your wrist.

I like the Chrome Monaco

This is my third watch purchase from Stauer.A good looking watch that is classy but can still be casual at the same time. Has a quality look and feel and the price is very reasonable.

Excellent

I''ve had my Monaco for a couple of years now. I don''t wear it every day. Usually, I''ll wear it for a couple of weeks and swap out with another of my watches. All it takes to get it up and running is a few shakes and setting all the small dials and the time. I love the style of this watch. The sweep second hand is a joy to watch. I like the way the buttons to set the day and date screw down to prevent them from being inadvertently pressed. I also like the screw down crown. The watch has been very accurate. Like all automatic watches, it gains a little time over a week, but it is not a problem. The band is also very nice. I had to take some links out and this was easily accomplished with the threaded pins. There is a lot of quality in this watch for the price. I have not had a minute''s problem with mine and I highly recommend it.

Great Watch

The finish of the watch is smooth and sophisticated. The movement of the second hand displays effortless Swiss movement and accuracy while the mother of pearl face is absolutely beautiful. This is a time piece that every collector should highly consider.

This is one great watch. Its the second of my collection of fine watches. The only reason why I''m not giving it a five star rating is that I had to take it to my local jeweler to slow it down. It would gain 2 minutes per week. But now after 3 months I haven''t need to reset it. My hat is off to Stauer fine watches. Oh, my jeweler, when he saw the watch he said it look like it was from a collection of Rolex''s.

Monaco is a Nice Watch

This is a real beauty I''ve had for ~ 30 days now. Mine keeps pretty good time and of course looks and fits great too. I have a 6.75" wrist and it fits fine after removing links and adjusting the very nice stainless steel band. Band has excellent clasp that does not fall off or unsnap unexpectedly. Watch is 0.492" thick, but does not look like it. It is solid and feels heavy at first, but you don''t notice it as you wear it. I wear it 24/7 except in the shower. My watch gains about 1 minute per week, which is great for a self winder. That is much better than being 1 minute slow. If you forget to reset it at least you''ll be early to appointments. I only wish the hands were luminous so I could see it at night.

It still works!

This is the watch that started me collecting. After several Invicta, Rotary, Casio, Timex, etc., this watch is still my favorite. Very comfortable to wear. It looks a little beat up considering I work with my hands on computer equipment. The coloring has come off the outer numbers, and there''s some scratches on the crystal. Yet, every time I polish it with metal polish, I see the beauty of its'' bright stainless gleam. Accurate as my Rado DiaStar if not more so. Love this watch.

Stauer Monaco: Great looking watch!

I just received this watch for my birthday and I am very satisfied with it. The contrasting chrome/satin finish of the watch and band is a great look. This version differs slightly from the photo on the website as the hour markers and hands appear black but are actually very polished stainless steel. The face is also described as "white" but has a mother of pearl finish. But the quality appears excellent and I am delighted with my first "automatic". My only suggestion to improve it would be to give it a skeleton back.I look forward to my next Stauer. Thanks!

What you should know

Watch performs great! I don''t havet any problem with time being off, which is fabulous for a winding watch.Solid construction for the face; band should be a little heavier/sturdier.It''s not Swiss movt it''s China Movt it''s a Fantastic watch, I would give it 5 stars if band was a little heavier.

I love this watch

The Chrome Monaco is a classy timepiece.
I own the black faced Corso as well and have a hard time deciding which one to wear.

I recommend this watch for personal wear or to give as a gift because of its quality. It keeps time with little need to adjust and is very durable.
I chose it because I love automatic watches and the Corso proved very dependable.
I plan on buying from Stauer whenever I need another watch.

My Favorite Watch

Stauer does great work and the Chrome Monaco is yet another fine watch in their collection.
I have two other Stauers but the Monaco is my favorite. There is a simple elegance to this timepiece. I recommend buying the Monaco for anyone who wants a high quality watch at a great price.
