The Aztecs used the “hummingbird stone” for ceremonies and rituals — it’s described as a glittering gem that resembles the bird’s colorful plumage. In Ancient India and Ancient Persia, the fire opal was admired as a symbol of ardent love.

While most fire opals are either cut in a uniform cabochon or faceted cut, we have a special opportunity for you to own a one-of-a-kind freeform opal.
