A few months back, I had a knee replacement. After a couple of months, it was feeling pretty good so I restarted taking Beau, my black lab, for walks. I still wanted a little extra help with balance for the walk, so I grabbed my “Man’s Best Friend” walking stick as we headed out for our morning tour of the neighborhood.
When Beau saw the walking stick, he gave me that puzzled look. Now I must admit, I get that puzzled look often, but this time I know why. My walking stick had a strange resemblance to a dog he plays with at the park. Now Beau doesn’t really understand sculpture, but he was a little unsure of what happened to his friend. I tried to let him know all was ok and gave him a little treat. When he saw his friend later that day, all was well in Beau’s world. I get a kick out of that walking stick every morning when we take our walk.
