In the 1920s, designers embraced new looks built on the joys of geometry and the inherent pleasures of repeating patterns. The Art Deco period produced bigger and bolder styles and changed the worlds of fashion, architecture and jewelry forever. 

Blue spinel is a gemstone that at one time was most famous for being mistaken for a sapphire. These days spinel gets the respect it deserves–– it is recognized for its excellent hardness (8 on the Mohs scale) and brilliance. So we wasted no time in creating a ring that would best showcase this gemstone in a way that’s both gorgeous and affordable. We hit the books and discovered that lab-created spinel is identical (if not better) chemically and visually than natural spinel.

Once we created the gemstone the perfect shade of sapphire blue, we married it with the vintage allure of an Art Deco style setting.
