As we journeyed through the limestone ruins, flashlights in hand, my friend could barely contain his excitement.
Entering the temple’s main chamber, a brightly colored iguana with a black band around his upper torso caught my eye. Enchanted by the little guy, I chased after him and nearly met a ruin of my own making. Rounding a corner, I stopped myself just in time to avoid plunging through a hole in the floor.
